WA Senior Women’s State Team Trials

The 2016 National Championship/Tournament in Melbourne will not be your ‘ordinary’ championship. National squad teams from England and New Zealand will be taking part and matches involving them will be played under international (eg 12-a-side) rules. This will also mean a significant increase in the number of games for each team over the five days.

With more games and on-field numbers, we will be aiming to take away the full 18 players, as specially permitted this year. This is a rare opportunity to play against international players in a different format and to be part of the pre-World Cup buzz. We are looking forward to seeing as many as possible at the trials.

Championship details are: Saturday 4th June to Wednesday 8th June at Footscray Hockey Club, Melbourne. It will be followed by Australia vs England Tests on 10th, 11th and 12th June. The Men’s Championship runs 7 – 12th June at the same venue. WA State Team personnel will include Coach, Dennis Banyard and Manager, Faye Beaman.
